The Auxiliary provides free examinations in the form of Free Vessel Safety Checks. Failure in the examination only results in not receiving your decal, and no citation will be issued. The Auxiliary is a non-law enforcement entity of the United States Coast Guard.

Did you know that...
 
Children under the age of 13 MUST wear a United States Coast Guard approved Life Jacket (Type I, II, III or V) while underway on a recreational vessel under 21 feet in length on Maryland waters, and Life jackets are required on non-motorized vessels including canoes and kayaks. Click to Learn More
